Prayer changes things

In 2012 I watched my dying Mom change into someone who was hurting, she was talking about things only she could see that didn't sound real to my sister and I. After she passed a couple of days later. I was numb. At this time I had been drinking for years everyday. I started talking to GOD asking him to remove the alcohol from my life. Then my sister died 80 days later. I was still drinking, now I'm crying to GOD, I don't want to drink anymore. Please remove the desire to drink, then after my sister's funeral I lost my job after 16 years. I'm still crying and drinking and praying. Two months later my daughter hurt her son and I prayed and cried some more. Without thinking I stepped up took legal custody of my Grandson. Then the desire to drink was slowly leaving me. I had to focus on my Grandson so much that I didn't feel the need to drink. The desire was still there but the need was gone. Then God brought my first boyfriend back in my life. I haven't seen in 32 years. He too had a pass of addiction, but he went to treatment for his. He supported me in ALL that I was going through, and still going through. Right now we're about to get ready for church. I haven't drink since, April 2013. Suffice it to say, Prayer changes things.
