My sweet dad has the beginnings of Alz and my mom in law is end the "final" stages of it. It is so hard to see those we love lose their ability to remember things and people. My mom is in a nursing home and we visit several times a week.....she knows us sometimes and others times we are strangers. She was always demanding and take charge kind of person; now she just sits there...not knowing much at all. It kills us to visit, but we take care of all her needs (and wants) and pay her bills etc. I am a disabled nurse, so I go in and check her over good........my sweet dad has this also...He never orders food for himself now..he will just say..."give me what she is having"....he has forgotten people he does not see all the time (even his son who does not live here, but visits 2 times a year. He is also lost most of his hearing....he is 84 yrs ole. My mom is 80 and deals with him 24/7. She had a heart cath last year and died on the table 2 times...rushed to er heart surgery and they were able to save her. I moved in with them many weeks last year......Need prayers for my mom in law, my sweet dad and my mom.......I hate seeing them have to go through all this......I am there for them, but can not make everything ok...only God can give them comfort and peace through all this.
