If you still are unable to locate him or get any information on his status then you may want to contact your local ACLU that is what they are there for. The American Civil Liberties Union, every state has one. Please google it for your state and reach out to them and tell them your situation. (Most individual penal institutions have their own policies in place on how they deal with inmates if and when they are placed in “medical care” and depending on the severity of the inmate. And none of the policies are mandated by any state or higher governing body, hence why policies may differ greatly from county to county.)
The ACLU have legal staff that will be able to assist. But if more and more cases such as yours get brought to the forefront, perhaps finally a uniformed mandatory policy for all penal institutions alike will finally be enforced properly. The families and loved ones should have proper rights to be informed of their loved ones status the entire time they are in the care of penal institutions. I wish you the very best of luck.
