I have struggled with depression my whole life. I deal with it successfully most of the time, and rely on God's promises that one day I will renew my strength and rise up with wings like eagles. I am a very successful Licensed Counselor working in the mental health field, as I do believe that much of the time, we have the ability to change much of our thinking and unhealthy behaviors that keep us depressed. Right now however, I'm unable to help myself. I've been very depressed for weeks and have thought of taking my own life. Tomorrow is my 48th birthday. I pray that I will feel hope that can only come my Lord God.
