Hey Gran, yesterday at the wedding my aunt Jerrie had a massive heart attack. It happened in a room full of medical professionals. Our friend Steven is a pediatric oncologist and was there, her daughter Jessie is an RN, and all the nurses from OHC that took care of Cindy when she was in the hospital were there, so she had literal immediate attention, and The church we were at was only 4 blocks from the fire dept so the ambulance was there in less than 5 minutes. They took her to Christ hospital which is only 3.5 miles from the church we were at. And Christ is where the really good Heart center and heart surgeons are, so the circumstances and location that it happened at couldn’t have been better unless she was actually already in the hospital when she had the heart attack. They worked on her yesterday from about 3pm- about 10pm. She had two major arteries 100% blocked and they had to put her on a heart and lung bypass because she couldn’t hold her own at all. They went thru her legs with stints and were able to open up one of the arteries but had a very hard time opening up the second. Something in her chest burst on the way to the hospital, but idk what, but that’s why they wouldn’t open her up because she was totally on life support. They after hours and hours were finally able to get the second artery open, but during the time they were working on her she coded 6 times and they had to use the paddles to bring her back. They have everything open and flowing in the heart now but she’s still bleeding from whatever burst and she’s no where near stable enough for surgery so they have her pretty much on a continuous blood transfusion giving her more blood. They came out at around 10 last night and said they had done all they can do for her at this point and they didn’t expect her to live thru the night. They put her in th icu and she’s still on the heart and lung bypass machine but she’s started trying to breathe on her own and they have the oxygen at 30% because she is breathing a little on her own. They said if she does live through this she will lose her legs because of how big the stints were that they had to use to open her arteries. She did make it thru the night tho. She’s still alive. But still in very bad shape. Please pray for her and put her on your prayer chains.
