I lost mine also back in 2016, and it was the hardest thing I have ever went thru in my life, including the loss of my mother in 2011, which in itself was devastating to my soul and very existence. If I can offer any insight in what got me thru it, please let me say that they are only gone from sight, and only from this realm of existence. Feel free to still talk to them, but pay attention to how they may respond, because it will not be the same way you are used to them answering. The hardest part will be getting used to being alone and not having that person here anymore, especially in certain aspects. Also, feel free to grieve as needed, cry as necessary and ask God for guidance. We are not meant to understand why he takes the best of us first, to fight battles elsewhere, but when he does, know he had his reasons and is watching over you now.
