By the way, I just happened to read your post and I did pray for Tyler. My son has cancer and my daughter is a paraphlegic. Some things we don't understand, but some day I will meet my Maker face to face and He will wipe away any tears I have shed. We just have to trust Him.

Your first sentence gives you away. You do believe in God, but you are afraid. Many of us have had those those thoughts, but the fact that you acknowledge the need for God (He has given each one of us the void that needs to be and can only be filled by Him). He tells us that we need to believe in him. John 3:16 says For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. We have a war going on on this earth between good and evil. God wants you to trust Him and Him alone for our needs. Bad things happen to good people, but believe me, I have been through enough to know that He is worthy to be trusted. We don't always get what we want, but He will meet our needs. Everything happens for a purpose and sometimes hard things happen to get our attention where the only place you can look is up. Just ask Him to help you through this in the name of Jesus Christ the Saviour of the world. We are on a journey and how we respond to God will make the difference in where we spend eternity. That is what is important.
