My promise to God keeps me

My husband and I were very heavy drinkers when we were younger. We had two children and they were the best girls a mother could ask for, the never ask for anything. But to get to the story that changed my life. It was new years eve in 1990 and we were planning our celebration party. My husband got up that morning, he never had a drink we had to go to the store to get it. Anyway he went up stairs and laid down and we hear a noise like something falling hard on the floor, I ran up stairs to see what it was and it was Dennis my husband, he had tried to get up and he would fall down. So I thought he just had a hangover from the night before, so Iwas going to call the squad but I didn't so we went down stairs and he was still up stairs and he fell again so we just over looked it, but my younger daughter took it upon herself to go to the neighbor house and called the squad, and they can and went up stairs to check him. They put him into a pressure suit because he had no blood, that's why he kept falling when he got up, his blood pressure was so low. They rushed him to the hospital and the doctor worked on him and came out and told us if he makes through the night he will be a very lucky man. I broke into tears and went outside the doors of the hospital and made a promise to God, that if he would let my husband live I would never drink again, my husband is 71 years old today and we have been sober for 27 years. Thank you God, and to my daughter for calling the squad, she saved her Dads life that day. Thank God for divine intervention.
