I live in Northern California. On January 1st, there was a murder in the rectory at St. Bernard's Church in Eureka. The victim was Father Eric Freed, a professor of Religious Studies at Humboldt State University, as well as a beloved priest. It is believed he was the victim of blunt force trauma. He will be missed. Please offer up prayers for the people that are grieving for the loss of their friend and mentor, the family of the man arrested as a suspect in this case, and the suspect needs our prayers as well.
