I have a friend who has recently applied to a position, had all of the qualifications he needed and was hired before he was interviewed based on his outstanding track record. He didn't mention an incident (minor crime) from his past during the interview because, he was told everything went through fine on all of his background checks, so it never came up. Unfortunately, the misdemeanor ended up being reported on the background check (HR went back and did another background check of ten years), and human resources informed his boss two days before his start date that he would be ineligible. It was an oversight on his part for possibly not mentioning this during the interview to the hiring manager, but I believe he did nothing dishonest. He is a good person, who saved my life as a child from a frozen lake and walked me two miles to a home when I wanted nothing more than to lay down and die from hypothermia. My prayer today is that he is given redemption from his past transgressions and is given the ability to have this job. The company he is working for now is going under and being bought buy outside investors who wish nothing more than to close the establishment down and sell the property to the highest bidder. He is distraught, filled with anxiety and fear. My other prayer is that he is given the strength he needs to press on. God please shed your grace on my friend today and if it is your will, allow him to be hired to the job that he seeks.
