Prayer Request
I've made a couple of request about a woman that I love and how we have been going through a rough patch. The past couple of weeks were really good. She was communicating, putting in the effort, expressing her fears more openly. I thought we finally turned that corner and were back on the right path. Then suddenly a few days ago she says she can only be friends, that she does not have the emotional compacity for a relationship. There is nothing I can do to change her mind. How do you go from loving someone one day and then saying you can only be friends? My heartaches

Thank you. My counselor is great but unfortunately she does not go and thinks she is handling everything on her own. She knows she has anxiety and insecurities but says "they do not govern her". It really is a sad situation and when I try to get her to talk to me she shuts down and pushes away more
Thank you. Yes, I have a counselor that I have been talking to. She does take medication but I am not sure what she takes. She does not go to counseling but she should. There is definite PTSD and trauma from past abuse. She has told me she doesn't understand me and how I could love someone like her. No one has ever treated her with respect or kindness. All she knows is being used. No matter how hard I try, love can not overcome that.
Has she considered going to counseling (with or without you)? Does she suffer from an emotional disorder that she may or may not be aware of? If she is seeking happiness (with or without you), counseling can help. She may or may not need medication, but happiness is worth seeking, and God wants all of us to be happy so we can then bring happiness to others. Whenever we feel torn, a good counselor can help us find our true path. A good counselor can also help you get through this confusing situation. God bless you both.
