That this is Gods way of helping and that my husband finds safety, guidance, understanding, and sobriety in this new chapter of life.
LORD,
I thank you for ALL of the blessings you have given us. Thank you for bringing my husband back to sobriety and showing us the tools to handle this disease. Thank you for giving my children the opportunity to see their father in a more positive light. Thank you for the ability to provide for my family and the patience you have granted me with all that is changing around me. I thank you for the sight of your light and the more positive vices we have to cope with such strife surrounding us. I only pray that you continue to provide guidance to us so that we may become closer to you every day. I pray that those that are new to the issues that we have faced find comfort in the support that is available to them. Please LORD give them the vision to see the systems in place to push them forward. Please grant me the ability to move forward and let the past be simply that, the past. Let us remember where we came from only so we can better appreciate more where we are today. Please Lord help me grow closer to my husband again and provide us the ability to always see the happiness of my children. In Jesus's name AMEN.
God, Please grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things that I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Please let this be the right steps to take for I am following what I hope is you will to change the situations I have placed myself in. Please grant me the will to hold to my plans and the focus on the ones that truly need my attention. Please let this be the final transition and that there is enough in me to not fall back into the familiar and fall backwards. Please prepare me for the challenges that are ahead for me and my family. In Jesus's name, AMEN>
My husband is currently in the ICU for the 4th time this year. Our family is falling apart from his drinking. He is losing weight, hallucinating, and seizing regularly now. Please Lord give him the courage and strength to fight this, show me the words to tell my children, and give me the strength to push forward. Please help me find a way for my children to be cared for so that I may work to provide stability. Please give me the words needed to make him see that we just want him to get better. Please open people's eyes to the issues with alcoholism, for it does not only take the drinker but all around him. Please make the tears stop. Please Lord give me back my focus. Please make him healthy again. Please help me forgive him.
Lord
I pray for my husband, Matthew Soukup to realize all the reasons he still has to live and for him to find that he is not alone. With the amount of loss and trials he has experienced he has lost faith in you but I pray that you have not lost faith in him. Please deliver him the strength he needs to push forward. Give him happy memorable moments with the family he has left and help him to see the family that he has grown to accept him. Show him that are marraige and our children are worth fighting for and that counseling is not a weakness but a tool for strength and release. Even if our marraige doesn't make it through please Lord help him find happiness again, outside of a bottle or can.
In the name of Jesus Christ
Amen
