My grandmother Marie Thomas has been in the hospital over 2 weeks. She had an abscessed tooth and it got to the point where it made her whole face swell. She was admitted in E.A Conway in Monroe and was airlifted to LSU Shreveport. As soon as they got her to Shreveport they put a trachea in her neck because the swelling could have made her stop breathing. Thank goodness they caught that in time. Well they found an infection in her breast bone and were going to remove it but the surgeon said it was not needed. They have tubes on her neck to drain the infection. They also found fluid around both lungs so they have tubes to drain that as well. Yesterday morning they found out that she has some kind of bug and that its the bad kind. Her immune system cant fight the infections because of diabetes. They say she should be in here a week or two longer. She is in MICU and needs lots of prayers. Please pray for her and our family. They are greatly appreciated. I know God can heal her and her be able to come home. Also pray for my grandfather Jeff Thomas. He makes trips back and forth from Caldwell Parish (Columbia, LA) to Shreveport and he doesn't have money to make the drive everyday and then have the hospital bills to pay.
