Dear God of Peace and Understanding, We lift up Glo Alcoba, a woman carrying the weight of silence, Longing for harmony in her home, And aching for her husband to see what she sees.
Touch his heart, Lord. Open his eyes to the pain that unfolds When drinking and disorder enter their sacred space. Let him feel the discomfort not as blame, But as a call to protect, to cherish, to change.
Help him understand that his choices ripple outward— That bringing his friend to drink and be drunk Does not just disturb the evening, But unsettles the soul of the one who loves him most. Give Glo strength to speak with grace, And courage to stand in truth, Even when she feels alone. Let her know she is never truly alone— That you hear her, see her, and walk beside her.
May their home become a place of healing, Of laughter without sorrow, Of companionship without chaos. Guide her husband to be her partner in peace, To honor her heart, and to build a future rooted in love.
Amen.
I am a retired domestic violence program coordinator. Violence comes in all forms. It doesn't have to be physical. You may have to accept that your husband wants the single life, but you do not have to put up with it. His behavior is all about taking control over you--that's domestic abuse. You can't change his behavior, but you don't have to tolerate it either. If he's not working, don't give him money. Perhaps if you and the kids leave, he may realize how much he needs you. You don't want your children living in this environment and growing up thinking it's OK and normal for a man to act like that. I will keep you in my prayers, but remember that the Lord does not want children growing up in an insecure environment.
