Please don't worry. I will be 70 years old soon and have been dealing with hypothyroidism since I was about 40. You may need to be on the medication for the rest of your life. But you will feel much better once you are on a steady dose of levothyroxine. I'm glad you were diagnosed early. Hypothyroidism is fairly common in women, but sadly, many doctors don't always diagnose it soon enough, as was the case with me. I suffered from lethargy, constantly pushing myself to do everything. It was like magic once I was put on the right dosage. Good luck to you. You'll be OK.
